Frances Canet, M.D. was born and raised in the Sacramento area. She graduated with honors from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences with an emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. She earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond in 2007.
She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University in Washington, District of Columbia. She returned to Virginia Commonwealth University for fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and stayed as an assistant professor before returning home to northern California in 2014. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
She practices non-invasive cardiology and her clinical interests include coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease and preventive cardiology.
She enjoys spending time with her family, spin cycling, yoga, hiking and gardening.
